We also address reflux, colic, disrupted sleep, unfavorable car seat rides, as well as what does proper neurodevelopment/milestones look like under six months of age.
This clinic was designed to target feeding difficulties that may arise, whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Dr Sonda wanted to begin a clinic like this about 5 years before this came to fruition. Noticing that other mothers were able to progress quicker in this setting because they didn’t feel alone, not only helped moms find the support they needed, but many leave the clinic having found new friendships as well. When your family or friends are unavailable to lift you up during your feeding difficulties, let us help get you on the right track.
Why a group setting?
We kindly ask that siblings and male support partners not attend so that mom is able to focus on the new baby and the other mothers feel comfortable in this setting since most mothers will be breastfeeding during the session.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Join Dr. Sonda Powell D.C. IBCLC for chiropractic, cranial sacral, myofascial, and lactation services in the INFANT FEEDING CLINIC. With over 20 years of caring moms and babies, Dr. Sonda has been working side by side with moms to achieve their feeding goals whether that is breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Getting to the root cause of feeding challenges like a painful latch, less than optimal weight gain, sleepless nights or an uncomfortable baby is exactly what the INFANT FEEDING CLINIC was designed to do. Tension can begin while still in utero, during birth but doesn't show up until after delivery. The tension babies express may be seen as oral dysfunction upon breastfeeding/bottle feeding. This tension may also be the cause of baby having difficulties with the car seat, contact napping, easily overwhelmed by noises, or a general lack of nervous system regulation. The INFANT FEEDING CLINIC allows moms to come to ONE appointment getting 3 areas of expertise in Lactation, chiropractic and cranial sacral/myofascial release care.
During clinics moms can expect to go over nursing positions, what proper latch look like at breast of bottle, pumping and flange fittings, weighted feedings and a plan of moving forward for improving the feeding experience as well as receive chiropractic and cranial sacral/myofascial release care
GROUP ENVIROMENT
We typically hold clinic every Wednesday morning. We offer this in a small group setting with around 4 other moms.
Myofacial & Massage
Myofacial and massage are used for babies to loosen tension that may have come from the birthing process or compensation due to improper latch or tethered oral tissues causing tension. Many times we see this tension causing problems with latch, sleep, spit up, and bowel movements.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE
All babies will receive chiropractic evaluation, exercises, and adjustments as needed to help balance their nervous system.

Mini Clinic
Once you have latch basics down but just need AMAZING Chiropractic, Cranial Sacral, and Myofascial/Massage care then this step down clinic will get you the rest of the way to your feeding goals. You can always go back to the BIG clinic if needed but this clinic gives you a discount, saves time if you aren’t needing hands on lactation and still fills your cup with mom community. Mom and baby are still able to come and go and do weighted feeds but no hands on lactation is provided during MINI CLINIC session. Moms are welcome to stay for Q&A that comes up in this small group setting or once they have received care they can move on with their day. Often times this is when moms can really feel supported by other moms who have “been there and done that” but are willing to encourage moms to keep pressing forward.
Our LACTATION LOUNGE is always available during office hours for you to stop in and do a weighted feed. The MINI CLINIC and the LACTATION LOUNGE are open to sibling and other adults.
